Family issues leaders and activists from across the State of Texas today announced their support for John McCain for president. This broad coalition includes nearly 50 leaders and activists of the pro-life, pro-family and faith-based communities.

Congressman Pete Sessions, speaking on behalf of the group, stated, "As Texans committed to upholding traditional family values and the sanctity of life, we are proud to announce our support of John McCain for President. As a courageous American hero, John McCain is uniquely qualified to lead as America's commander-in-chief on day one, and he will protect our nation from the threat of radical Islam. With a steadfast commitment to protecting human life, he will appoint strict constructionist judges, and he will stand up for the importance of the traditional family. His proven record of defending our national security and encouraging a culture that values life gives us confidence that John McCain will lead America to a safe and prosperous future."

"I am honored to be supporting John McCain,"stated pro-life activist Laura Randall. "His twenty-four year pro-life voting record, his attempts in the U.S. Senate to reign in Internet pornography and his support of life and human dignity in general are more than enough for him to gain my support. However, as an advocate for adoption, knowing that his family opened their hearts to a little one in need and through adoption have added to their family, that's the type of compassion I want to see in our president. Tough yet tender, that's what I see in John McCain."

John McCain expressed his appreciation and stated: "I am honored to receive the support of so many strong leaders on family issues. They are committed to defending the sanctity of human life, upholding traditional marriage and expanding educational choices. I look forward to working with these leaders in the weeks and months ahead as we take our shared values to the White House."
