On Tuesday, House Democrats admitted that the Republican 'All of the Above' energy plan for America is the best choice for the future of our energy independence.

This comes three months after the Republican-proposed plan was introduced, and after many remarks from House Speaker Pelosi that such a plan would never pass.

Today, I voted against approving a journal of the Congressional record to prevent some irresponsible remarks from becoming part of the official log of comments made on the House floor. Yesterday, a Democrat lawmaker unfortunately compared his party's presidential nominee to Jesus Christ. Additionally, he alluded that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is akin to Pontius Pilate. An ambitious coalition of Republican Congressmen, including Rep. Mike Conaway (TX-11), met this morning in our nation’s Capitol to continue their efforts to elect Republicans and take back congress. They call themselves the House GOP Young Guns.

This morning, our GOP House leadership delivered a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) asking her to call the House back into emergency session this month to deal with the country's growing energy crisis. The letter said, in part:

With American families and small businesses facing record high gasoline prices, Congress has adjourned to leave Washington for a five-week break.
