Republican 'All of the Above' Energy Plan Moving Forward in Congress

On Tuesday, House Democrats admitted that the Republican 'All of the Above' energy plan for America is the best choice for the future of our energy independence.

This comes three months after the Republican-proposed plan was introduced, and after many remarks from House Speaker Pelosi that such a plan would never pass.

Democratic Energy Legislation is Not America's Answer

Representing a district that is in touch with America's energy needs, I know just how important domestic production of oil and natural gas is to our economy and our nation's security. That's why I opposed the Democrat's Energy bill, which the House passed late Tuesday.

Congress should put off its scheduled August vacation and earn its pay by honestly debating the Energy crisis

This morning, our GOP House leadership delivered a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) asking her to call the House back into emergency session this month to deal with the country's growing energy crisis. The letter said, in part:

With American families and small businesses facing record high gasoline prices, Congress has adjourned to leave Washington for a five-week break.

Conaway teaches "Energy 101" for fellow members

From today's Midland Reporter-Telegram:

You shouldn't try to legislate on oil and gas until you pass Energy 101, says U.S. Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Midland.

That's why he and one of the few other knowledgeable congressmen held a beginners' class last week and plan more Tuesday and Thursday in Minority Leader Roy Blunt's conference room.

Joining Arizona Rep. Trent Franks, Conaway told 28 neophyte Republicans about leasing and other pre-drilling work, drilling, producing, regulations and supply on July 15.
